Our first set of challenges ‘Kick start your blogging’ begins next Monday 10 January 2011.
Every Monday and Thursday for the next four weeks there will be both beginner and advanced blogger challenges. Choose which one you want to participate in. Every Saturday there will be a week in review post – not necessarily an activity to do, but maybe visit other blogs mentioned in this post.
Also check out our mentors who are there ready to help you if you get stuck with the challenges.
If you are blogging for the first time, it will be a steep learning curve, but the journey is made easier when you have friends helping you.
You can also see a page in our header called ‘Why blog’. Check this out before next week as it will give you descriptions of lots of jargon used in blogging. This page will be very helpful over the next few weeks.

Hi Sue!
Looking forward to it, although in New Zealand we are in the middle of summer holidays. However I do need to think about how I will start my students off in the new term,

I’ve found this at JUST the right time — moving from blogging independently to getting my students, staff, colleagues blogging as well. Steep learning curve continues — but I’m having so much FUN! Looking forward to learning through 30 days of Challenges!

I feel the same way Varley509! I am a bit worried as to what I am getting myself into on this blogging challenge. But I do need a way to get my students interest level to increase. Maybe this will do it!
Thanks for the push that I need.

I am very excited about being a participant in the Teacher Challenge. I just started blogging (for real this time) on August 31st. I tried several times before with students, but obviously I need some mentoring.
My current blog focus is to assist teachers in their quest to integrate technology more effectively or attempt to integrate despite their stated barriers. I hope I can do a much better job at my blogging so teachers will begin to use it as a resource. But I also want to generate a student resource or as I heard the term a “online hub”
Well it seems I’m in the right place and would like to thank the mentors ahead of time for being here to help us.

Talk about the right course at the right time. This is perfect. I’m just about to start a blogging project with my kids for the first time. We’re all new to it, and no doubt it’ll be a pretty hectic term, but I’ll keep an eye on the course and hopefully pick up some useful tips and tricks.
Great stuff.

I would like to set up a blog for parents in my school neighbourhood and for students in a book club.
However, I cannot sign up for the Blog challenge as it doesn’t like my version of the anti-spam word.
Help?

Hi Vicki,
The fact that yo have left a comment means we know you are interested. There will be an official signup next week, once everyone has their own blogs.

I would like to polish up my site and to help find the stamina and motivation to post more regularly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
